For this project, I designed a temporary park pavilion comprised of a space frame made of mass-customized aluminum struts and connection nodes that can be assembled and dismantled for annual use. I created a Grasshopper definition to generate all the pavilion geometry. This definition can control the height of the pavilion, curvature and thickness of the exterior skin, and all aspects of the space frame structure.
I also created a Grasshopper definition to generate the surrounding park trees. In this definition I can create countless random varieties of trees by manipulating the height, number of branches, and size and location of canopy. I then randomly populated them throughout my site to create a more natural landscape for my pavilion.
